It’s About Nothing! Making Money With Nothing…

I worked last night until 2.30am and got up at 6 so I am very tired. I have a few tasks to do and I thought, na…too tired to do anything and then I thought I should write a blog post, I called it It’s About Nothing… see this short video clip from the amazing-best comedy Seinfeld:

So what is my point? If you can not find an idea to what to do, I suggest you open a blog – about what? About NOTHING! like they say… just write what you did, where you go, what you think, you will find your followers and income will follow you. I know some of you might be thinking, Itay us really crazy thinking about this BUT I think someone else (see above) proved it can be done – making money of nothing (and lots of it). Good luck!

Google Slapped You? Slap Google Back…

Are you a beginner or Google has already got you too?

I am not going to bitch about it (although lately, everyone does and it seems like an interesting trend). I even had an idea of ‘Stop Your Adwords Campaign” day ;) …if you are in, LMK

Let’s go for a second back to the origin of the problem. Do you know why Google is so strong? Why is it so controlling and powerful (maybe even more than Microsoft)? The answer is: Traffic Control! Surprised? They basically control the traffic you desperately need for your website. So simple yet so powerful…

So what do we do next? We grew this monster of us and now it is coming all over our internet marketers.

Don’t be alarmed. If you are a newbie or already worked your way around the complex sides of the page quality score… you have to look at everything differently and Slap Google Back!

google_slap

I didn’t mean to go to the next conference, approach Larry Page and slap him in the face (although I am sure some of you had this thought crossing their minds…but no!). Google is big, Google is strong and yes controlling the traffic you need BUT Google doesn’t control all the traffic you need. What do I mean? People say that researches say Google controls 15% of the internet traffic. It is a high number but hey! Wake up!!! There are 85%, yes 85% of traffic out there waiting for you to take. If you develop your skills to harvest this traffic as you did for Goolge’s, you will have about 6 times more traffic!!! Yep, 6 times more – makes one wonder hu!?

So what are your options for other sources traffic? Sure, you can find other search engines but none of them (and all of them together) are not as big as Google. You need to develop your own media buying skills. Yeh, buy banners and contextual ads. Simple as that. I made this post to make one point, you don’t have to be afraid of Google or any slap what so ever. You need to develop new targeted traffic sources that can help you generates sales. Waiting for Google’s next slap and the cry wont help. Do you want to put all your eggs in one basket? I wouldn’t.

there is another great way to do it which is List Building… will talk about it in my next post

Are you following me?

I think one of the best comedy, In the 70’s and 80’s, when I was just a kid, was “You Being Served?” from the UK. I remember they asked so many times in every episode: “are you following me Humphries?”… reminds me of the good old days :) (check the green hair lady, lol, they were so funny, especially when she was talking about her pussy, which is her dear cat).

Why am I talking about that? Already back then, they were talking about ‘following’…and lately, I’ve been learning more and more about Twitter (which no one, yet, can really understand what and how to really make money of it). I found something very interesting. When you follow someone, usually, he follows you back. It makes sense – if you are following him, your interest is probably similar and thus he follows you back. But what happens on weekends? from late Friday afternoon to late Sunday night (about 48 hours) they don’t follow you back. Why is that? because they are on their weekends. Sure, some of them come back and follow you but the ratio drops like a stone falling from 100 feet.

What did I conclude of it? weekend, rest your following action… there are other things you can do, read a good book, go with the family (or if you really need to do something, find some new Facebook friends ;) )

Enjoy your weekend!

Who the hell needs SEO?

I am telling you and I am telling you now. Everyone needs SEO!

No, you don’t need to be an expert to do the basics, just a few simple steps towards having an optimized website. Now some experts my read this and say you have to do much more than. And I agree if you are you are running your websites subjects on highly competitive niches (although even in this situation, since you don’t know much of SEO and can’t afford yet to have someone do it for you, you should do the basics).

So what are the basic steps you have to know and do? You need to know the following 4 elements:

1) Title
2) Keywords
3) Description
4) Headings

Let’s look at each one of them separately:

1) Title: Basically, this is saying, in one short sentence that describes the page (shortly) and it appears on the top of the browser.

Sample of the title code:

<title>Learn all about taking vacation in Orlando!</title>

2) Keywords: here you place the keywords, you think your page should be top ranked for. I suggest 2-4 keywords only. If you don’t know how  to do keyword research, don’t be stressed, just think carefully, if you would search for the information about Orlando and vacation, what would be the keywords.

Sample of the keywords code:

<meta name="keywords" content="orlando vacation, orlando disney,
orlando florida vacation, orlando hotels" />

3) Description:
Just describe what’s on the page. 2-3 sentences would be sufficient for that.

Sample of the description code:

<meta name="description" content="Learn about the great vacation
opportunities in Orlando, Florida - the number one vacation spot
in the US. We are bringing you all the information you need in
one spot" />

4) Headings

There are a few types of headings 1, 2, 3… and basically it tells which headline is more important than another. In the sample code below you see that the main header is “Orlando Vacation Spots” and under it there is another heading, with secondary importance, “Orlando Vacation Playgrounds”. Try to have at least 2-3 headings in every page.

Sample of the headings1 code:

</font><font face=”Tahoma” style=”font-size: 20pt; font-style: italic”>Orlando Vacation Spots</font></b></h1>

Or

</font><font face=”Tahoma” style=”font-size: 20pt; font-style: italic”>Orlando Vacation Playgrounds</font></b></h2>

Simple, wont you agree? Like I said, you have to do, even a basic SEO! So start moving…

Are You Committed?

Ran Aroussi, one of my best friends called me yesterday to congratulate me for my new blog. He liked the fact I’ve put a blog as I have lots to give to the community. But there was one thing he asked me: “you know this blog is a commitment, right?” and I said sure! I know it is…and it made me think about it…

This morning I woke up and I thought about commitment and internet marketing. I think this word ‘commitment’ has a very powerful meaning in every aspect of life and not any differently in internet marketing. If you are not here for the long term, if you are not committed to what you are starting to do, I am telling you, you are wasting your time and money.

You will see it in many ways….your spouse wanted a commitment? She/he wanted to know that you are investing in them for the long term. How would you expect other people to help you if you are not committed? If you are not willing to invest yourself why anyone would invest in you?

When I’ve met Igal Pines, one of the brilliant affiliates in the industry, for the first time, he told me many of his friends has asked him to help them to make money online. He agreed but said he needs $10,000 not for himself but for the campaigns. All of them refused. He said this was one of his ways to see if they were committed (other than the fact, they really were supposed to invest money in PPC).

To sum this very short post – be committed to what you do in life and especially when you are doing internet marketing – if not… get away from here.

On Internet Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Life

I have to be the first to congratulate myself (lol). After telling my thousands of people to set your own blog, finally, I did it – I am the owner of a new blog, my own blog. woohoooo!

Now that it has been set, I need to fill it out (mmm….what was I thinking of…) and my first blog post to go.

I was sitting with myself thinking for hours, oh this is an important first post, has to be special, has to be with a great meaning…and then at 1:08am it struck me – The first thing I always say to other internet marketers is to set the expectations with their readers (although this ‘rule’ is right in any aspect of life). Tell your audience what they should be expecting by getting your advice, product, visiting your site, reading your blog… got it? if you set the expectations, people will know what to expect from you. they won’t be disappointed from not getting something they shouldn’t have waited for and they will be waiting with anticipation for your ‘great stuff’.

So let me set your expectations: this blog is all about “On Internet Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Life” from my point of view. As a savvy internet marketer I’ve seen my share of ups and downs, I’ve purchased products for tens of thousands of dollars and tested them, I travel the world to meet with my super affiliate colleagues & executives and tap into the most advanced technologies and internet marketing techniques. Well, this blog will be all about bringing it to you from my point of view. You will from me the basics and the advanced side of Internet Marketing. I will post here posts and also videos blogs (have to do these as well) from my office, airports and where ever I go worldwide.

Keep following me and I will be your mentor, coach and most important a Friend :)

For your online success!
